How to use the Media Manager in an article

    The Media Manager is a very useful tool for uploading or deleting files in the directory on your web server. You can upload new files, delete the existing ones and create a new sub-directories. This topic explains you how to add a document or an image  to the Jentla article.

    To Add Document/Image inside a Jentla Article:

    1. Login to Jentla Content Manager (http://<yourdomain>/manager or http://<yourdomain> where the manager has its own subdomain).

    2. Go to Content Administration in the user menu which is located on the left side of the page. You will be directed to the articles display page.

    3. Either click an existing article link in the article list (the article where you want to add the document/image file) or click the New button option at the top-right corner of the page to create a new article. You will be directed to the Edit article screen.

    4. If it is a new article, Enter the Display title, Article URL, Internal title, Secondary URL in the appropriate fields at the top of the screen.

    5. Click the Content tab to add the desired content in Summary area and Body area using different styles. If no content is entered into the summary region then the article will not be displayed in menus on the website.

    6. Continue with the files upload in the content region, by clicking either Document/Image button  according to the type of file to be uploaded. Please see the details for each case in the below sections:

    Inserting Documents into an Article

    This section describes the details of adding a document file to your article. In this case adding a document using the Documents button located on the Content tab (beneath the summary or body region). The Documents button helps you to create a link to a document or to upload a new PDF document to the document library.

    The following options are available when adding a document:

    • Select - This option allows you to select an existing document from document library (Bunch of documents which you were already created)

    • Use  - This option allows you to create a link text of the document

    • Upload - This option allows you to upload new document to document library

    • Find - This options allows you to filter the list of document in document library

    Selecting a Document from the Library

    This option allows you to select an existing document from the document library (It is a bunch of documents located in select form), as illustrated below:

    • Directory -  Use this to navigate to the desired location. Choose the desired document from the document library and click Insert button  at top of the pop-up page. The selected document will be embeded in your article

    • Up - It is used to navigate the parent path

    • Create folder - It is used to create a new folder. Type the name of the desired sub directory into this text field, and then click the "Create" button. The page will refresh and the sub folder will be created

    Setting the Document Appearance

    This is used to set the document related information that will appear on the site:

    • Document URL - It shows the whole path URL for selected file

    • Link text - It shows the link text of above selected document. This link text will be shown in the site for the selected document

    • Show field type - Whether to show the field type of the selected document

    • Show size - Whether to show the size of the selected document

    • Open in new window - whether the document will be opened in new window

    Uploading a Document to the Library

    If you would like to upload a document to the directory path (or any of the sub directories). To upload a file, start by using the Browse button to find the file you would like to upload, and then click "Open". (You can do this several times so long as the overall file size accumulation doesn't exceed your max file upload size 10 M). Once you have all the files you want queued, hit the "Start Upload" button. The files will be uploaded to the selected directory.

    • Keyword - It is used to index the document for site front end. It can also used for searching purpose

    Searching a Document in the Library

    To filter the particular list of document from the documents list, as illustrated below:

    • Date - It is used to search the particular list of document by date where the files were created

    • Search file - It is used to search a file in the selected path folder. You can give all type of search words like .doc, .pdf, .png, *.* and path of document (Jentla)

    • Include sub folders - It is used to search all the sub-folders of the selected document path

    • Keyword - To search the file using keyword

    The selected document will be added in the content successfully.

    Click Publish button at top-right corner of the screen, Finally the document will be embeded to the Jentla article.

    Adding Images into an Article

    This section describes the details of adding an image file to your article. In that case adding an image using Image tab or Image button located on the content tab (Beneath the content region). Image button is a tool used for inserting an image into the content region. This tool enables a contributor to control where on the page the image appears. The following is an example for image button.

    The following information required on image button. The image button includes Four forms.

    • select - This option allows you to select an existing image from image library (Bunch of image which you were already created)

    • Use  - This option allows you to create a link text of the image

    • Upload - This option allows you to upload a new image to image library

    • Find - This option allows you to filter the list of image in the image library

    Selecting an Image from the Library

    It is used for selecting an image from the image library, as illustrated below:

    • Directory - Use this to navigate to the desired location. Choose any one of the image in the image library and click insert button at top of the pop-up page and automatically the selected image will be added to the content

    • Up - It is used to navigate the parent path

    • Create folder - It is used to create a new folder. Type the name of the desired sub directory into this text field, and then click the Create button. The page will refresh and the sub folder will have been created

    Setting the Image Appearance

    The following details required on Use form

    • Image URL - It shows the whole path URL for selected file

    • Image Description - It shows the description for the selected image

    • Image Title - It shows only when we move the cursor on the image

    • Align - Set the position of the image using drop-down list. If we want to view the image as center means set the align as centered likewise

    • Caption - Whether to show the text that appears below the image
